New café The Tideswell Lounge, expected to open at the beginning of December, will now open its doors for the first time on the 20th.

1/11: Diego makes it 100 not out
Buxton FC striker Diego De Girolamo scored his 100th goal for the club at home to Tamworth on the last evening of October. The former Sheffield United and Italy U20s forward has reached double figures in goals in each of his five seasons with the local National League North side.
2/11: Top 30 climate action place
Derbyshire Dales District Council has been placed 30th out of 186 UK councils for climate action progress, as assessed by Climate Emergency UK.
13/11: Carers' Rights Day
The national Carers' Rights Day will be on November 23rd. Derbyshire Carers Association is hosting an informal 10am to 1pm event on that day, venue the Post Mill Centre in South Normanton, DE55 2EJ.
17/11: Networking breakfast
Business Peak District is organising a networking breakfast for local businesses at the Devonshire Dome in Buxton from 8.30am on Friday December 8th. The website is businesspeakdistrict.com.
20/11: Farmers' Market
The latest Bakewell Farmers' Market, with over 50 stalls, will be at the Agricultural Business Centre on Saturday November 25th from 8.30am to 1.30pm.

2/10: Discovering the past
A new exhibition called "Finding Whitle" telling the story of archaeological work at Sheen near Longnor and supported by the Peak District National Park Authority, will run until October 28th at Nicholson Museum, Leek.
4/10: Constabulary date
Police officers from the safer neighbourhood team will be at Millers Dale car park between noon and 1pm on Saturday October 14th.
4/10: Buxton match changed
The scheduled Buxton versus Tamworth National League North match at the Tarmac Silverlands on October 14th has been rearranged for October 31st, kick-off 7.45pm, because of Tamworth's FA Cup commitments.
18/10: Musical play cancelled
Stormy weather has led Pentabus Theatre Company to cancel their scheduled performance of "Driftwood" musical play at Tideswell Community Hall on Friday October 20th.
24/10: More illuminations
Matlock Bath Illuminations will be shown for the extra night of Monday October 30th, free for accompanied under-16s, as compensation for cancellations caused by recent storms.

1/9: Public accountability meeting

4/9: Best win yet
Buxton FC's 5-0 victory against Darlington on Saturday (2nd) was their best win yet in the Vanarama National League North. Wide midfielder Sam Osborne scored a first-half hat-trick.
7/9: Rural community networking
Business Peak District will host a rural networking morning at Masson Mills, Matlock on Thursday September 21st from 8am. More information on businesspeakdistrict.com.
18/9: Police street meetings
Officers from the safer neighbourhood team will be at Eyam Church Centre for an hour from 11am on Friday September 22nd and at Millers Dale Café, same day 2pm. There is an open meet-up invitation to the public.

Derbyshire Constabulary has published a new report highlighting successes in enhancing victim support and preventing re-offending. The report is included on webpage derbyshire-pcc.gov.uk/news.
4/8: Picnic in the Park
Tideswell's summer Picnic in the Park, cancelled in July because of heavy rain, has been rearranged for Saturday August 12th from 1pm at the Community Park.
15/8: Hope Show
The annual Hope Show will open at 9am on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28th, at Marsh Farm on Castleton Road. Admission £10 adults, Under-16s £5.00, Under-4s free. This is one of Derbyshire's major country shows.
18/8: Combatting violent crime
Extra funding of £1 million over the next three years has been secured by Derbyshire Constabulary to combat serious violence and knife crime.

1/7: Appeal for witnesses
Police investigating the road incident on the outskirts of Tideswell at the close of Wakes Week, which left 11 local people in hospital and a man arrested on suspicion of drink and dangerous driving, have appealed for witnesses. Three other vehicles are believed to have been in the vicinity at the time. Contact the Constabulary using the reference 23000389069.
3/7: Street meet
Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team will be at Tideswell Sports Complex on Thursday July 6th from 1pm to 2pm, ready to listen to residents' views and give out crime prevention advice.
14/7: Local plan
Derbyshire Dales District Council is to review its Local Plan to rethink where new development should take place, how many houses should be built and what obligations should be placed on new-build partners.
20/7: Water Aid
Buxton Soroptimists have raised £170 for Water Aid from a desktop treasure hunt held with friends in Tideswell.
21/7: School meals quality
School pupils will continue to receive hot meals of the same quality and size despite recently escalating food and staffing costs, Derbyshire County Council has announced.
25/7: Farmers' Market

High Peak Diabetic Self-Help Group will be at an open day, St Matthews Church Hall, Hayfield on Saturday July 1st from 10am to 2pm, along with several other health and welfare groups. Light refreshments available, all welcome.

Tideswell Cinema's planned double bill showing with meal for May 20th has had to be changed to the 27th because of venue unavailability. All other details stay the same, as per page 27 of May's edition of the magazine.
9/5: Operational Sceptre
Constabulary officers will be at Tideswell Sports Complex on Monday May 15th from 1pm to 2pm to talk with residents about any concerns they may have. This is part of what they are calling Operation Sceptre Week.
19/5: Pay and display
Work starts on Monday May 22nd to remove card readers from Derbyshire Dales pay and display car parking machines, in the light of the decision by mobile operators to switch off 3G networks later this year. It will still be possible to pay with cash and PayByPhone.
22/5: Thanks to volunteers
Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen's Trust are joining in with early June's Volunteers' Week to thank the 200-plus people who give them help on a regular and voluntary basis.

Tideswell resident Sue Barber will represent High Peak Diabetic Self-Help Group at a celebration of the coronation of King Charles III to be held for Derbyshire voluntary organisations in Matlock on April 28th.

Police officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team will be at Tideswell Sports Complex in Tideswell from 2pm to 3pm on Tuesday April 11th, to chat about crime prevention.
17/4: Anti-crime surgery
The next anti-crime surgery, run by the Safer Neighbourhood Team and open to businesses and residents, will be in the Council Chamber at Bakewell, on Monday April 24th at 5pm.

1/3: Safer neighbourhoods
Derbyshire Constabulary's safer neighbourhood team will hold a "street meet" at Eyam Church Centre on Friday March 3rd from 11am, for an hour.
3/3: Conference and expo
Business Peak District's annual conference and expo will be held at the Crescent Hotel in Buxton on Thursday, March 30th. The overall theme is to be "economic growth and prosperity in Derbyshire". Bookings are via the East Midlands Chamber website.
13/3: Going blue
The #GoBlue fundraising initiative is back. Hosted by Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen's Trust, the call to the community is to wear something blue, organise a blue-themed event or decorate the office in blue to raise money for these end-of-life charities, Monday March 20th to Sunday 26th.
20/3: Brew with the crew
Firefighters and the police are extending an invitation to have "brew with the crew" at Bakewell Fire Station on Monday March 27th, from 5pm to 8pm.
20/3: Potholes cash
The County Council expects to receive £4.2 million as its share of £220 million of grants announced by government to repair and maintain roads in 2034/24. Around 22,000 potholes have been fixed in the county so far this year.

Buxton FC's recently postponed Vanarama National League North football match at Leamington has been rescheduled for Tuesday February 14th, kick-off 7.45pm.

20/1: Garden waste collections
Subscriptions for 2023 garden waste collections by Derbyshire Dales District Council open on January 23rd. Residents who pay before March 3rd will be entered into a draw, with 20 winners each having their fee refunded.
23/1: Life-saving kits
Life-saving emergency bleed kits are to be given to a selection of pubs and bars in High Peak and Derbyshire Dales by Derbyshire Constabulary. The kits are for use by the public in cases of serious bleeding before the arrival of the emergency services.
24/1: Police street-meet
The Constabulary's next community street-meet will be at Litton Village Hall on Monday January 30th, from 4pm.
26/1: Coronation funding
The National Lottery Community Fund is making up to £10,000 per neighbourhood project linked time-wise to King George III's coronation. Applications will need to be made by mid-February: more information on tnlcommunityfund.org.uk.
